On the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of People with Disabilities 2016, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism – Directorate-General of Museums and Directorate- General of Tourism have organised the conference “Cultural Heritage. Use and training: projects for accessibility to cultural heritage and tourist facilities”, in collaboration with the Social and Integrated Cooperative Tandem.
The event will be held at Giovanni Spadolini Hall in the offices of Collegio Romano (via del Collegio Romano 27, Roma), on the 7th of December 2016, from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
The event will be devoted to the theme “Culture for all”, within the Italian and the European context, with specific reference to the use of the State cultural facilities, through the presentation of some important initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.
The European project “App tour you”, which is financed by the Erasmus plus program and coordinated by the Cooperative Tandem, will also be presented. The project will experiment new and innovative approaches to the training on accessible tourism and tourism information for small and medium-sized enterprises and operators in the tourism sector, in order to increase their competitiveness.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry Mrs. Ilaria Borletti Buitoni will attend the conference, together with the Director-General of Museums Mr. Ugo Soragni and the Director-General of Tourism Mr. Francesco Palumbo. Experts in the field of incoming tourism are also invited.
Giovanni Spadolini Hall is accessible to wheelchairs users. An Italian Sign Language LIS interpretation service will also be provided.
