European Heritage Days 2019

On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September the European Heritage Days (EHDs) are celebrated throughout Italy with the 2019 edition taking its inspiration from the theme “Un due tre… Arte! Cultura e intrattenimento” (One two three… Art! Culture and entertainment). Guided tours, special initiatives and extraordinary openings will be organised in state museums and cultural places which will be accessible during ordinary times at normal costs. In addition, on Saturday there will be special evening openings with admission at the symbolic cost of 1 euro.

The theme
Un due tre… Arte! Cultura e intrattenimento” interprets the slogan “Arts and entertainment” established at European level for the European Heritage Days and represents an opportunity to reflect on the well-being provided by cultural experiences and on the benefits that enjoying the cultural heritage can establish in terms of fun, sharing, experimentation and escape.
Every form of game, in its most traditional meaning, represented by the artefacts found in archaeological excavations, by iconographic representations, by traditional street games, up to the most innovative technological experiences can be taken into consideration.
All visual and performing arts and representations of local culture are forms of cultural entertainment, dedicated to escapism but also a vehicle for interpreting the past, reflecting on the present, providing visions for the future. From music to design and fashion, from dance to literature, from photography to theatre, from festivals and popular traditions to cinema, all artistic forms combine to build a cultural identity and to create relationships.
Museums, archaeological parks and areas, monuments, galleries, libraries, archives, universities, conservatories, academies are “called into play” and invited to “open the dances” in order to share the fun of the European Heritage Days.

All the appointments of the EHDays 2019 will be published on the website www.beniculturali.it/GEP2019 (IT) and on the European website www.europeanheritagedays.com

The initiative can be followed on the social media of museitaliani and EHDays.
