On Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September the European Heritage Days (EHD) are back again in Italy. This is the most extensive and attended cultural event promoted by the Council of Europe and the European Commission.
The event will include guided tours, extraordinary openings, and digital initiatives organized in museums, public and private cultural venues, following the theme “Cultural heritage: ALL inclusive!”. Moreover, on Saturday night the national museums will be exceptionally open, with entry tickets at the symbolic fee of 1 Euro (excluding the free tickets provided by the law).
The theme of this edition is particularly significant, as it aims for representing a reflection on the involvement in the cultural heritage extended to every citizen, including each age group, ethnicity, territorial minority, and person with disabilities. The Italian motto “Patrimonio culturale: TUTTI inclusi!” is the translation of the original slogan “Cultural heritage: ALL inclusive!” chosen by the Council of Europe and shared by the participating countries. The EHD 2021 events calendar is regularly updated on the Ministry of Culture’s website (daytime events and night openings) and will also be published on the European Heritage Days website and on the institutional channels of each museum.
Each institute will notify the safety and participation rules adopted in order to protect the health of the staff and visitors, and in particular to avoid gatherings and ensure social distancing, in accordance with the applicable regulations and provisions in force upon implementation of the initiatives.
The initiative can also be followed on the social media channels of museitaliani and EHDays.
The official hashtags to follow the event are: #GEP2021 #EuropeanHeritageDays #museitaliani #patrimonioculturaletuttiinclusi
